An exceptional Scandinavian Art Deco cigarette box crafted in pewter and fitted with a warm wood-lined interior, c.1940. The lid is decorated with an expressive relief depicting two athletes mid-stride, celebrating the fascination with speed, movement, and athleticism that defined late Art Deco design.
Produced by GAB (Guldsmedsaktiebolaget), one of Sweden's most respected metalworking firms, the box exhibits clean architectural lines balanced by beautifully modeled figural relief. The warm wood interior provides an elegant contrast to the softly aged pewter exterior while protecting its contents.
Although originally designed as a cigarette box, today it serves equally well for storing playing cards, business cards, desk accessories, jewelry, recipes, or other small collectibles. The timeless design makes it an outstanding decorative object for both modern and traditional interiors.

Who Are You Buying From?
Every object here has a journey before it ever reaches you. I've spent years seeking these pieces out, in back rooms of old ateliers, from families who've inherited more than they can keep, through dealers I've come to trust, in conversations with people who still work with their hands, because I've always believed the things we choose to live with should carry something true. What began as a private obsession became a devotion, one I now share with my wife and daughter, who remind me daily that the best collections are the ones built to be passed down, not simply owned. What you're holding isn't just an object. You're inheriting its story, and becoming part of its next chapter.
