Found in United States

A richly detailed porcelain plate from Hermes’ celebrated Cheval d’Orient collection, this piece captures the maison’s enduring dialogue between equestrian heritage and decorative artistry. At its center, three horses move in fluid unison—each adorned with intricate, Persian-inspired textiles—set against a luminous white ground framed by a fine gilt rim.

The design draws directly from 15th and 16th century Persian miniatures, reinterpreted through Hermes’ exacting craftsmanship. Composed using an extraordinary palette of 29 colors across the various pieces within the collection, each element is meticulously applied, resulting in a surface that feels both painterly and precise. There is a sense of motion to the composition—an elegance that reflects the brand’s deep-rooted connection to the world of the horse.

Part of a larger service spanning over 50 forms, Cheval d’Orient bridges Eastern inspiration with Western table traditions—making pieces like this equally suited for use or display.

Collectors Notes

Hermes tableware often sits at the intersection of utility and narrative—and Cheval d'Orient is one of its most expressive collections. The equestrian motif feels intrinsic rather than decorative, a natural extension of the house's origins.

This plate works beautifully layered into a tablescape, but just as easily stands alone—on a wall, in a vitrine, or resting on a shelf where the detail can be appreciated up close.

A thoughtful addition for collectors of Hermes porcelain or those drawn to equestrian design and global decorative traditions.

It's a fitting addition to our Vintage Hermes collection, and a thoughtful Housewarming Gifts pick.

Who Are You Buying From?

Every object here has a journey before it ever reaches you. I've spent years seeking these pieces out, in back rooms of old ateliers, from families who've inherited more than they can keep, through dealers I've come to trust, in conversations with people who still work with their hands, because I've always believed the things we choose to live with should carry something true. What began as a private obsession became a devotion, one I now share with my wife and daughter, who remind me daily that the best collections are the ones built to be passed down, not simply owned. What you're holding isn't just an object. You're inheriting its story, and becoming part of its next chapter.
