This ice bucket takes a flaring cylindrical form, tapering outward from a reeded foot up to a stepped, geometric rim, one of designer Keith Murray's signature architectural touches. A plain band of silver runs up the body before meeting a decorated band near the neck, keeping the design restrained and letting the form itself carry most of the visual interest.
Twin handles are applied at the widest point, angular and faceted rather than curved, in keeping with the strong geometric language Murray brought to his metalwork. Inside, a pierced strainer separates ice from melt water, a practical detail that makes the piece as functional today as it was when new.
The underside is fully marked, confirming the Mappin and Webb manufacture to Webb's design, a pairing collectors of British Art Deco silver look for specifically. The reeded foot and stepped rim are both crisp, with no signs of the wear or softening that comes with heavy use.
Dating to around 1930 and made in the United Kingdom, this is a well preserved example of British Art Deco design, and a strong piece for a bar cart or sideboard for anyone drawn to Keith Murray's work or the period more broadly.

Who Are You Buying From?
Every object here has a journey before it ever reaches you. I've spent years seeking these pieces out, in back rooms of old ateliers, from families who've inherited more than they can keep, through dealers I've come to trust, in conversations with people who still work with their hands, because I've always believed the things we choose to live with should carry something true. What began as a private obsession became a devotion, one I now share with my wife and daughter, who remind me daily that the best collections are the ones built to be passed down, not simply owned. What you're holding isn't just an object. You're inheriting its story, and becoming part of its next chapter.
